Messianic Symbol
The United Messianic Jewish Ministries (UMJM) is a licensed and registered 501(c)(3) corporate ministry that works in cooperation with other Jewish ministries both in the U.S. and in Israel to proclaim the Torah of YHVH Elohim in the name of His Son, our divine Rabbi and Adonai: Yeshua the Jewish Messiah.

Our primary mission is to provide guidance and instruction to smaller Messianic Jewish congregations (KEHILLOT) who are not affliated with larger synagogues such as that of home fellowships, deployed military personnel and prison groups.  One of the ways we do this is by making available the Messianic Jewish Siddur - a 200-page English / Hebrew prayer book containing detailed guidance for conducting a semi-formal Messianic Jewish Torah service. Its unique design is for smaller assemblies whose leadership and members are often unfamiliar or inexperienced in formal synagogue procedures, but who wish to maintain the customs and traditions as Messiah's people.

Our secondary mission is to unite our Messianic prison groups under one banner by giving them a broader sense of community outside of their currently confined environments.  We strive to encourage, educate, and guide our incarcerated men and women in proper Jewish understanding of the Holy Scriptures.  We do this by providing a free Messianic Jewish Siddur to each inmate who requests one, as well as through individual correspondence and personal instruction for all Coordinators of each Messianic prison group.  The UMJM actively ministers to over 900 men and women in 190 prisons throughout 26 states and Candian provinces.

Our Core Teachings

Our entire belief system and foundation for our faith is based upon the written Word of Elohim (God) referred to in Judaism as the TaNaKH - Torah (Law), Nevi'im (Prophets), and Ketuvim (Writings).  The divinely inspired Scriptures from B'reshith (Genesis) to Khazon (Revelation) compose the entire TaNaKH, with the New Covenant writings included as part of the Ketuvim.

Man's opinions and emotions are in a constant state of flux and are ever changing, but the Word of God is eternal and does not change.  It is through YHVH Elohim's written Word that we know Him and His Son, our origin, our purpose, and our destination.  All of our beliefs and teachings are derived from His written Word and His Word alone.  The following are our (5) core teachings that provide the basis for all other doctrines to which we adhere.

  • We teach there is only ONE single, true, and living "EL" (God) - our Father YHVH Elohim. He alone is God and King of the universe (Melekh Ha'Olam).  He alone is the God of Avraham, Yitz'khak, and Ya'akov, and the God and Father of our Mashiakh (Messiah).  (Ex. 3:15;  Deut. 10:17;  Isa. 43:10;  Isa. 63:16;  Isa. 64:8;
    Eph. 4:6;  John 17:1-5;  John 20:17;  Rev. 3:12)

  • We teach there is only ONE single, divinely begotten Son of God - our Messiah Yehoshua (Yeshua) ben Elohim.  He alone was brought forth from YHVH our Father who has made HIM both Adonai (Lord) and Mashiakh (Messiah).  The roles of the Father held with the Nation of Yisra'el under the Older Covenant, have now been given to His Son for the House of Yisra'el under the Newer Covenant:  Savior, Redeemer, Husband, Judge, King, and Adonai.

    In His role as the Lamb of Elohim, Yeshua's sacrificial death on Golgotha and the shedding of His blood for atonement has provided the means for forgiveness of sin.  YHVH created all things through His Son and for His Son, and He has given his Son His very own name of "YHVH" as an inheritance: YEHOSHUVAH = Yehoshuah = Yeshua! The Son has the name of YHVH His Father within His own name, and therefore literally came in His Father's name.  (Isa. 52:13 - 53-12;  John 3:16;  John 16:27-28;  John 17:7-8;  Col. 1:12-20;  Heb. 1:1-4;  Heb. 9:11-12;  Matt. 26:26-28;  John 1:29;  I Cor. 5:7-8;  John 13:3;  Prov. 30:4)

  • We teach that the Divine Presence and Glory of our Father YHVH that hovered over the waters at creation, that appeared upon Mt. Sinai with Mosheh, that dwelt above the Ark of the Covenant, that came upon the Prophets of old, that was used by Messiah to cast of demons and perform miracles, that was used to raise Messiah from the dead - is the very same Ruakh Ha'Kodesh (Holy Spirit) of YHVH our Father that believers in His Son can receive today.  The divine power of the Father's Spirit is His "Promise" He made to Yisra'el that He would dwell within His people. It is by means of YHVH's Presence / Spirit that both He and His Son can dwell in the hearts of believers, and it is by His Spirit that the Father will also raise our bodies from the dead in the resurrection.  (Ezk. 36:26-28;  Zech. 4:6;  Joel 2:28-29;  Acts 2:15-18;  John 7:37-40;  Matt. 10:20;  Rom. 8:8-11;  Acts 10:38;  John 3:34-35;  Matt. 12:28;  I John 4:12-16)

  • We teach that a man's nefesh (soul; being) is saved by the khesed (favor; grace) of Elohim through emunah (faith; active belief) in obedience to His Torah.  Those who refuse to abide in the Torah of YHVH, as taught by His Messiah, will NOT inherit the Kingdom of Elohim. Assurance of salvation is guaranteed and secure in the hands of both the Father and His Son, but only for those who faithfully endure unto the end.  Those who refuse to abide in the Torah are "lawless" (without the Law) and those who commit "lawlessness" will not be saved.

    Yeshua equates one's love for Him to obedience to His mitzvot (commandments).  Sadly, many will stand before Him on Yom Ha'Din (Judgment Day) who had faith to receive the Father's Spirit and who operated in spiritual gifts - but will still be cast into Gey-Hinnon (everlasting fire) for their refusal to obey His Torah.  (Matt. 24:12-13;  Luke 9:62;  Luke 17:32;  Heb. 2:1-3;  Heb. 3:6;  Heb. 3:12-14;  Heb. 3:18-19;  Heb. 4:11;  Heb. 5:9;  Heb. 6:4-6;  Heb. 6:11;  Heb. 10:38-39;  Heb. 12:14-17;  Matt. 7:21-23;  I Cor. 14:37;  John 14:15;  I John 2:1-4)

  • We teach that New Covenant believers of the House of Yisra'el are commanded by YHVH to observe and guard all His moedim (appointed times) and mikra'im (holy occasions) written in His Word. Those in covenant with Yeshua who by faith have received the Father's Spirit are forbidden to celebrate pagan religious holidays and celebrations.  (Lev. 23:1-44;  Deut. 12:28-32;  Jer. 16:19;  II Thess. 2:15;  II Thess. 3:6;  I Cor. 11:2;  II Cor. 6:14-18)
